Do you need to work on your core strength?

Athletes can’t perform unless they have good core strength. In the same way, the core of your network needs to be solid and strong enough to support your everyday operations.

The demands on network infrastructure only ever go upwards and today, most devices at the edge are connecting at 1Gbps or maybe even 2.5Gbps. Higher speed WiFi connections and faster devices are generating more traffic on the network, which means you will need even more bandwidth on the central core of the network.

We would certainly recommend that most networks with more than a handful of users now have at least 10Gbps core throughput capacity – and in the not-too-distant future, you might need even more. We have recently released ourfirst switch that provides 10Gbps/25Gbps multi-gig support across the network, with 100Gbps uplinks providing even more headroom for connections to an even larger infrastructure or external links.

We’ll be introducing more options designed to give you added flexibility in the network core over the rest of 2025 and into 2026. Upgrading to this new generation of Zyxel Networks switches will future-proof your network for some time to come.

You might need some help in gauging exactly what you need in terms of core network bandwidth, and we’d urge you to contact us or your nearest trusted Zyxel Networks to start exploring the possibilities.
